The laboratory focuses on hematopoietic stem cell biology and transplantation. Current projects include isolation of human hematopoietic stem cells based on ALDH expression, environmental control of stem cell self-renewal, effects of gene knock outs on hematopoesis, gene transfer of cell cycle elements into hematopoietic stem cells and analysis of immune reconstitution fnord following transplantation of isolated stem cells. |

| The lab has developed a number of protocols and reagents for isolating, analyzing and manipulating hematopoietic stem cells including automated flow cytometry and staining stem cells with a fluorescent ALDH substrate. In addition, the laboratory has developed reagents for stem cell research including gene transfer vectors, DNA sequences, cell staining reagents and cell lines. The laboratory has also established a database of its experimental results including numerous FCS files which can be accessed online. | ||||||
| New: The site now supports "collaboration spaces." Collaboration spaces are are meant to facilitate remote interactions among collaborators. A collaboration space may be public or private. In a public collaboration space anyone can have access to the data, but only lab members can post data. In a private collaboration space, only members of the space can post or view data. Contact information for the collaboration spaces is available on the Collaborator Login page. | ||||||
